Innovative technology for future-ready industrial applications

Our expandable 3D motion analysis solutions are powered by our renowned motion capture software, Cortex.

Motion Analysis has been trusted by industry leaders for decades. It enables real-time, precise and low-latency measurement of marker movements. It’s readily transformed to provide body angles, enabling industrial users to effectively identify and correct ergonomic issues that lead to injury or analyse other human factors for industry or the military. By tracking anything a marker can be attached to, the system is also used to validate robotic control systems and measure deformation or an object’s aerodynamic behavior in a wind tunnel. Cortex integrates with a wide range of control systems.

Cortex 9: Powerful software designed for real-time motion capture

Our Research and Development team is continually investigating new ways to make motion capture and tracking more efficient. We recently released Cortex 9, the latest edition of our internationally-renowned motion capture software. It includes a number of features that set it apart as one of the most advanced mocap software solutions available.

    Why choose Cortex?

Offers unparalleled quality, speed, and usability.
Can transfer real-life objects into digital settings or create 3D virtual objects.
Capable of seamless integration into VR, AR, or CAVE systems.
Completely scalable with the ability to handle any capture space.
Supports drivers for major graphics engines, HMDs, and eye trackers.
Jumping into the VR active environment is quick and easy; as soon as the markers are placed, the system is ready to go.
Enables product manufacturers to design digital prototypes, reducing the costs and time incurred by creating physical prototypes.

    How is it used?

Cortex tracks anywhere from one subject to an entire squad, making it ideal for military training in immersive, real-time 3D virtual reality environments.
Our systems offer low-latency streaming, greatly reducing the chance of subjects experiencing motion sickness.
Cortex is often used as a validation for drone flight paths, for programming mechanical movements in robotics, and helping to drive user-developed content in various applications, including VR.

Introducing the Firefly active marker kit

Ideal for drones, robots and many other applications where a rigid body needs to be tracked, the Firefly active marker kit works with any MAC camera (except the BaseCam) and Cortex software.
Designed for industrial and engineering applications
Choose the number, position and orientation of the active markers
    Use with Cortex software

    The kit includes:

8 NIR LEDS (4 mounting points)
    Driver board (2 mounting points)
3.7V rechargeable battery (USB chargeable) removable to save weight if power available
Three-way switch 6/8/off removable to save weight

    Integrated into your world

The Cortex data stream is integrated with many PLM, ergonomics, robotic and simulation packages. Additionally we offer a VRPN server for streaming real-time data from Cortex to a range of engineering, simulation, and virtual reality applications requiring six degrees of freedom (6 DoF) tracked objects. A Software Developers Kit is available if you prefer to develop your own application.

Premium cameras that offer greater flexibility

Our motion capture cameras offer compact design, high accuracy, and robust performance. All our camera models are all “plug and play,” field upgradeable, and compatible with our other cameras.

“When we needed to purchase a second motion capture system, Motion Analysis was our first choice. Not only is the system great to use, but the team is always very helpful. They helped us envision the system setup within the wind tunnel and we are in regular contact with them for tips and advice.”
